Excellent body, leaves more persistent rings on the glass than most lagers Mild carbonation Excellent session beer. It has the most difficult character one can strive for: that of purity. Mash Wunderbier, Swan Valley, Australia

Tags: , ,

The Mash Wunderbier was a tribute to Oktoberfest, and the great beers of Bavaria.  With its brilliant copper look, I would have guessed it was a Pale Ale. Suntory Beer

I was really planning on tasting more Taiwan Beer brands, but couldn’t find the rest at the corner store just yet. So, instead, I opted for this beer, Suntory. I think it’s from Japan. It was a straw Gold colour, brilliant. The head was lively but short-lived. The aroma is a 3.5 in intensity, and [...]

Taiwan Gold

Tags: , , , ,

It was a joyous afternoon, enjoying my second Taiwanese beer of the day, and watching the World Games on my 42-inch plasma perched at the foot of my king-size bed at the Tango Nanshi in Taipei. The event on TV was the former Olympic event “Tug-Of-War” (my favourite). Tug of war embodies all qualities of [...]

Beer in Taiwan

Tags: , ,

Coming up is my long-awaited trip to Taiwan, and there are a few things I like to discover when I travel: the people, the culture, the transit systems, and the beer. As it turns out, in most places we really choose our beer based on the media input. They are, indeed, selling a feeling. Products [...]
