Black almost opaque Bitter toasty smelling nose Bitter chocolate taste, like a dark chocolate with a cherry center, or black forest cake in a glass. Not my favourite type of beer, but black forest is my favorite type of cake. 4.6/5

Gold clear, medium head
Very mild aroma.
Exceptionally clean taste with a slightly bitter finish, lingering bitter and dry aftertaste.
Excellent body, leaves more persistent rings on the glass than most lagers
Mild carbonation

Excellent session beer. It has the most difficult character one can strive for: that of purity. You really couldn’t ask for more.

Head is thick and high and dark like can of pepsi

Called a dark lager, I was at a loss for where to put this in the rotation .

At number 3,

Faint caramel aroma
Sweet and chocolatey like slightly bitter cocoa with a mild flavour like dried grains, pleasant. 4.8/5
Finish is cleaner and not as strong as similar brews
Body is great. I appreciate the craftsmanship.

Not typically my taste, but excellent nonetheless. It walks a tightrope with it’s strong flavors, but rescues itself with a clean aftertaste. Very interesting. If this is how they make a dark lager in Bavaria , I have a lot more exploring to do, and I may acquire a new taste.

Mildly bitter then smooth, very exciting
slight aftertaste of dry grass, conjuring up images of a mid summer drive through the Fraser valley. With no traffic.
